Lanzarote
It all began here, when I got my first underwater camera. I thought it would be nice to take a few pictures of what I was seeing all the time, and it opened up a whole new world for me.
Sites I had dived hundreds of times were turning up surprises everywhere I looked, and that was the big thing before, I was usually just passing through, or concentrating on the clients. It was only when I went in with the camera and my regular buddy, that I got to relax, and actually look at what was there.
I spent nearly 3 years in Lanzarote, teaching diving full time. When I could get in with the camera, it brought a whole new dimension to my diving, it gave me a new reason to be underwater, and I even managed to get a couple of nice pictures.
Eventually, it got to the point where I preferred to go in taking pictures, rather than looking after people. Coupled with the offer of a lucrative contract in the UK, I reluctantly returned, and took a well needed break from diving.
